Team Penske announced Tuesday that it has extended its longtime partnership with Verizon with a multi-year deal.
The telecommunications company will remain the primary sponsor of Will Power’s #12 entry throughout this upcoming season, and will feature on the car for the entire 17-race schedule.
Verizon initially joined Penske in 2009, when Power was first paired with the team near the beginning of the veteran’s long career.
It has stayed as the primary sponsor for power for 15 years, and now has a deal to continue that partnership will into the future.
“Verizon has been a great partner of Team Penske since our first season together in 2009,” said Roger Penske.
“With their commitment to cutting-edge technology and performance, Verizon has been an integral part of our success in IndyCar competition and the company continues to deliver for our team and for the IndyCar Series. We are excited to build on our success together for the future.”
Power’s entry is one of only a few on the IndyCar grid that have a sponsor that encompasses the entire season. Only an occasional special livery, usually for the Indy 500, breaks up the consistent branding he and the team have built.
Despite being the reigning champion, and having the option to run the #1 on his car to denote the previous year’s success, Power will run his famous #12 throughout the 2023 season.
“Very few drivers are lucky enough to have the support of one partner for as long as I’ve had the opportunity to work with Verizon,” said Power.
“They have been instrumental in my career – a career that would likely have looked much different without them. I still have things I want to accomplish, and I look forward to representing them and bringing the Verizon Chevy back to the winner’s circle.”
