Chip Ganassi Racing has announced that The American Legion will become the primary sponsor of Alex Palou’s #10 entry for next season.
The sponsor is a replacement for NTT, which recently announced that it will be moving on from its long-time relationship with Ganassi to sponsor Felix Rosenqvist’s car at Arrow McLaren SP in 2023.
The American Legion provided primary sponsorship on Palou’s car at five of the 17 races last season, and that will expand to include a majority of the rounds next season.
The deal with the veteran’s organization is a multi-year extension, meaning the patriotic branding will continue to be seen on the grid for the foreseeable future.
“Supporting our nation’s veterans is of immense importance to our organization and we are humbled to continue supporting The American Legion’s mission in ending veteran suicide,” said Team Owner Chip Ganassi.
“We will do absolutely everything we can to help veterans get the support they need while raising public awareness of the ‘Be The One’ platform.”
The American Legion will also have branding on Ganassi’s other entries, including Marcus Ericsson’s #8 entry and the on the Indy NXT car of team’s development driver Kyffin Simpson.
This past year, the organization also sponsored a single race for the team’s popular drivers Jimmie Johnson and Tony Kanaan, and was a continued presence all around the Ganassi garage.
After a public legal fight with his team over where he would drive next season, Palou will be returning to his Ganassi seat for a third consecutive season.
He has also secured a reserve role with the McLaren F1 team, and is expected to become a more integrated part of that squad once his contract is up at the end of 2023.
