Lewis Hamilton led a Mercedes one-two from George Russell with Ferrar’s Charles Leclerc rounding out the top three finishers in FP1 of the 2022 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The session was taken over by a wave of rookie drivers who took the wheel of the respective F1 teams as they fulfilled their season quota of rookie running.

Red Bull’s Liam Lawson was the rookie who topped the timing sheets, setting the fifth-fastest time of the session in Max Verstappen’s RB18.
