The entire Red Bull Formula 1 team is set to boycott Sky Sports after comments were made regarding Max Verstappen’s 2021 title.
It was recently revealed that Verstappen himself would ignore Sky Sports, after learning about the remarks.
Now, according to Press Association, the entire team is set to follow suit in protest of reporter Ted Kravitz’s comment, who stated that Lewis Hamilton was “robbed” of last year’s title.
“[Hamilton] doesn’t win a race all year, and then finally comes back at a track where he could win the first race, battling the same guy who won the race he was robbed in the previous year, and manages to finish ahead of him,” Kravitz said, speaking at last weekend’s US Grand Prix weekend.
“What a script and a story that would have been. But that’s not the way the script turned out today, was it?”
Verstappen didn’t provide any interviews with the British broadcaster on Saturday after qualifying in Mexico, where he took his sixth pole position of the season.
The boycott is now set to extend to the wider Red Bull organisation.
Team Principal Christian Horner often joins Sky Sports from the pitwall during race weekends to provide the commentary team with updates from the ongoing session and various other matters.
He also takes part in paddock interviews with the broadcaster throughout grand prix weekends, including following the qualifying and race sessions.
However, they appear to be on hold for the time being.
Thinner skinned than Donald trump,
How’s life for you going in the United States of Weimar under Biden?
the last 2 years have been better (not hard), but it’s probably about to take a downward turn again.
Clearly they don’t like the truth…. Fact: Red Bull cheated by going over the spending cap. Fact: Massi didn’t apply the rules correctly so that on the last lap of the race Verstappen was able to take the lead and the championship. Fact: Take these things away and Hamilton wins, simple as that.
It’s Maradona and the hand of god all over again.
Fact: Verstappen would have won the title without winning the last race had Hamilton not tried to kill him at Silverstone (which he still hasn’t apologized for). Fact: the FIA’s findings are one year after a season has ended and were revealed via Toto Wolff (why & how????). Fact: Cost caps can’t actually be regulated because giant corporations like Mercedes can shift spending from one conglomerate to another. Fact: You don’t know sh*t.
Your comment is nonsense
Great, as if hearing blowhard Crofty and cuckold Brundell screaming over Hamilton battling for 5th isn’t bad enough, now we probably have to endure an extra dosage of Lyin’ Zak Brown making excuses all race why his neon pumpkins are so slow. Another race I will be watching on mute.
You could watch it on F1TV Live and listen to Will Buxton and Jolyon Palmer.
Given that the whole purpose of the Red Bull F1 team is to publicise the Red Bull fizzy c**p, by ostracising the whole Sky Sports team, they are cutting off their nose to spite their face. I would imagine, that if the late Dietrich Mateschitz was still with us, he would be straight on the phone, saying: “Control your offended delicate egos guys and behave like grown-ups. We need the Sky publicity.”
Not true.
Red Bull win poles and races, they don’t need to do interviews to advertise.
Indeed, I could NOT agree MORE.
The reason RedBull R IN F1 is 2 sell a fizzy drink.
With LESS publicity now 2 Red Bull available. I would NOT B surprised if they pull out.
Which is what your father should have done if that’s your standard of literacy.
Exactly that
Max would have won last year on Count back as he won more 1st places than Lewis anyway which people seem to have forgotten.
Instead of reporting the news Sky analysts have decided to be the news. The Sky broadcasts go to a worldwide audience that isn’t as Lewis Hamilton centric as a British telecast. With that, I would hope that Mr Kravitz can control his “homerism” to a point where the TV viewers can enjoy races without the pro-Hamilton rhetoric.
Additionally, if one of those buttons barely holding Crofts shirt closed comes loose, someone’s gonna get hurt.
Re: if one of those buttons barely holding Crofts shirt closed comes loose, someone’s gonna get hurt
>was there a NEED 2 personal about things?
Y did U feel the NEED 2 lower the tone?
*most annoying brit accent imaginable*
“LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLewis Hamiltonnnnn just gained 0.0000000023 second on the last lap, Martin he is on fire and the crowd is going wild!!!”
*piped in crowd noises*
This pretty much sums up Sky’s F1 coverage.
You forgot to mention Simon “as I said” Lazenby and David “going wheel to wheel!” Croft. (Shouted by Croft when there’s no chance of that overtake he’s hoping for, ever happening…)
Sky usually rely heavily on Horner during a race weekend, sometimes interviewing him several times. Even during the same programme…
Cheating is cheating no matter how you look at it
Red Bull team cheated & were caught out
Masi cheated & lost his job
Any other sport cheaters would be DQ & if Red Bull had been DQ’d then the Championship trophy should belong to Hamilton making him 8 times WDC & the greatest winner of all time
Verstappen is only champion due to the fact both his team & Masi cheated, that is fact
Welcome to the real world sparky. Cheaters always win. Just ask my dad.
Re: Cheaters always win. Just ask my dad
> It is ONLY cheatin if, U get caught. Otherwise – U R JUST, gettin away with it
Verstappen won his first championship because
A The FI A got the restart wrong by not allowing all lapped cars to unlap themselves.
B Mercedes got their strategy wrong in not bringing Hamilton in for fresh tyres to cover Verstappen..
Verstappen did nothing wrong. He just drove his race.
Ha ha, that’s nonsense, Hamilton was in front and if he had pitted Verstappen wouldnt so would have gained the lead and the fact there wasn’t enough laps left to clear the track, let all lapped cars through and restart the race meant to say Hamilton not pitting was an error is incorrect. However I do agree that Verstappen did nothing wrong, he just got lucky when the race director decided to make up his own rules, Hamilton fan, but can’t deny Verstappen was a worthy champion
How sad only Red Bull like the sound of their own voice. Their loss especially Horner
Red Bull Have done the right thing, fact is they all bend the rules and then some.
Why one earth would you give interview time to Sky after that.
Great call made and awesome someone has finally stood up to Sky’s biased reporting
Can you honestly say Hamilton wasn’t robbed of the race victory and therefore the championship? The race director decided to make up his own rules and gift it to Verstappen. I couldn’t think of a better word to sum it up. Not to say that Verstappen didn’t deserve it if you look at the whole year but taking that race in isolation Hamilton was robbed and I don’t understand how anyone can argue any different
Get your prejudice in check Crofty. You are the epitome of British BiaS. These are the things that keep us from enjoying pure racing, adds fuel to the flames, and drown everyone with hate in social media. There are many up and coming commentators lined upd behind you so get your act together.
It’s not British bias. I’m British and it certainly doesn’t fit in with my views on the matter. The bias is purely personal by the individuals involved, don’t attribute it to being British, because it isn’t, the majority of us do not share their view.
If you don’t like Sky’s coverage, switch off. Every country’s commentary team will and do favour their countryman that is a fact. Its no one else’s fault that you can only get a UK based broadcaster.
Red Bull Racing don’t like constructive criticism in any form especially Christian Horner who has become a egotistical winge bag and takes a dislike to anyone who does not give his team a pat on the back for cheating. You don’t get a fine for nothing.
How ridiculous. The truth hurts I guess.
Bit like when Mercedes moaning because redbull did super quick pit stops ! The list goes on
That’s pretty pathetic. If Ted had said that Max cheated, one could understand it, but he didn’t say that at all. He just spoke the truth that everyone knows is true. And to think we’re always being told that RB is good at media !
