Max Verstappen claimed pole position for the 2022 Mexico City Grand Prix, ending the session three-tenths ahead of George Russell.
Russell, in turn, was only marginally faster than team-mate Lewis Hamilton.

Local favourite Sergio Perez had strong pace during the session, but could only manage fourth on the grid.
The star of qualifying was undoubtedly Valtteri Bottas, who split the two Ferraris in Q3 to end the session in sixth.
