Ross Brawn was spotted at Ferrari’s Maranello headquarters on Monday, prompting speculation that he may be considering a return to the famous marque where he enjoyed great success.
The now retired former team principal confirmed he was indeed in Maranello, but confirmed it was purely part of a scheduled holiday visit.
He told the BBC that he was there “with a group of friends as part of a tour of Italy – no more than that!”
Ferrari meanwhile said the same: “It was simply an Italian fantasy tour with friends scheduled for some time.”
As part of the holiday, which takes in parts of the famous Mille Miglia race route, he tried out various Ferrari’s including the new La Ferrari hypercar.
The visit had nothing to do with returning to Ferrari’s F1 team though, despite the recent sacking of Stefano Domenicali who was replaced by Marco Mattiacci and the outfit’s current struggles to match Red Bull and Mercedes.
