Alexander Albon has been given the all-clear and discharged from hospital after his crash at the start of Formula 1’s British Grand Prix.
Albon was pitched into a heavy impact with the pit wall at Silverstone after being hit from behind by Aston Martin driver Sebastian Vettel, as the field checked up following contact between Zhou Guanyu and George Russell.
Albon then speared across the track and swiped into Esteban Ocon and Yuki Tsunoda.
Albon was taken to the medical centre before being transported to Coventry Hospital as a precaution.
“I’m very glad that everyone else involved in the first lap incident is okay,” said Albon.
“Thank you to all the medical staff at the track and Coventry Hospital. It’s a shame our race ended before it began today, but we are already fully focused on Austria.”
