Arrow McLaren SP has pulled the wraps off a set of new liveries for this year’s Indy 500, with an asymmetric and bold design featuring on all three cars the team plans to run.
The designs feature a trio of colors, with olive green joining the standard fluro papaya, and light blue, and each of the three cars will have its own color arrangement.
James Bond, designer and co-founder of the clothing brand Undefeated, was instrumental in creating the tiger stripe livery that Felix Rosenqvist raced last year, and created this year’s design for the entire team.
“With the success of last year’s design, the team was ecstatic to welcome back this partnership between Arrow McLaren SP, Vuse and Undefeated to elevate our position on and off the track,” said team president Taylor Kiel.
“Collaborating with a brand like Undefeated through innovation and art during IndyCar’s biggest moment of the year helps to bring the sport forward, drive creative innovation, and foster additional interest in the sport.”
It’s not just the cars that will have special paint jobs, but the drivers’ fire suits and garage equipment will be decked out in the new colors as well.
All three designs will take to the track later this week when the entire paddock comes together for a two day test at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The two week event that is the Indy 500 begins with practice on May 16, and concludes with the 106th running of the famous event on May 29.
Yikes.
