Michael Schumacher remains in an induced coma, his manager Sabine Kehm has confirmed following reports to the contrary.
According to French media reports, Schumacher’s doctors are in the process of waking him by gradually reducing the medication which is keeping him in a state of sleep.
Kehm however told the BBC that fans should “ignore the speculation” and confirmed the 45-year-old is “stable, but remains in a coma” at this time.
“I am stressing again any statement regarding Michael’s health not coming from the doctors treating him, or from his management, must be considered as speculation,” she said. “I repeat, we will not comment on any speculation.
“I also repeat that Michael’s family is very happy and confident with the work of the team of doctors treating Michael, and they trust them completely,” she told Le Dauphiné Libéré.
The German has been in an induced coma since his skiing accident 31 days ago and it isn’t known what recovery he will make, if at all.
