McLaren will take part in the first test of the 2014 season next week in Jerez, Spain after the MP4-29 passed its final crash test.
The Woking team were in a race against time to get their chassis homologated after it failed one or more tests last week.
Whilst a McLaren spokesperson described it as “normal”, it prompted fears that they would have to skip the first test whilst changes were made to strengthen the chassis.
However the team quickly made changes to the car and booked a fresh round of crash tests with the FIA on Tuesday morning.
The team have now confirmed that all tests have been passed and they will be proceeding with their original schedule as planned.
The MP4-29 will launch on Friday, before taking to the track in Spain a few days later on Tuesday 28th.
