Former Formula 1 racer Nico Hulkenberg will continue to act as Aston Martin’s test and reserve driver in 2022.
Hulkenberg has started 179 grands prix since making his debut in 2010, spending a significant period of time with the Silverstone-based operation.
Hulkenberg has not raced full-time in Formula 1 since his three-year deal with Renault concluded in 2019.
He nonetheless made three appearances in the 2020 season with Racing Point when regular racers Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll were ruled out due to illness.
Hulkenberg held the role of Aston Martin’s test and reserve driver in 2021 and will again be on standby in 2022 in the event of its regular racers being unable to participate.
