Mercedes-AMG factory drivers Raffaele Marciello and Luca Stolz will make their return to SunEnergy1 Racing’s GTD line-up for the Rolex 24 at Daytona.
The duo will team up with Fabian Schiller and team owner Kenny Habul aboard the team’s always brightly coloured Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
Habul, Stolz, Marciello and Mikael Grenier finished second in the GTD category at last year’s edition of the Florida classic, finishing only behind eventual class winners Winward Racing.
The team also competed at Sebring, Watkins Glen and Belle Isle last year, with Gradient Racing providing operation support for the team.
It is currently unclear if Gradient will continue to provide support this year, especially since it has announced its own Michelin Endurance Cup campaign in GTD with Acura.
SunEnergy1 Racing becomes the latest Mercedes team to confirms its Daytona plans, following the likes of Winward Racing and the two-car WeatherTech Racing GTD effort.
