Valentino Rossi has had a test outing in an Audi GT3 car with world champion squad Team WRT at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia.
The nine-time Moto GP champion was part of a three-day test for the Belgian squad at the Spanish MotoGP venue.
Rossi drove one of the team’s Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo IIs, with his trademark number 46 and ‘The Doctor’ logos visible on the door and side window.
According to a brief statement released by the team with regards to the test, it was carried out ‘with a view to evaluate future cooperation possibilities’ between team and driver.
Rossi recently retired from MotoGP, but has expressed wishes to move into more four-wheel racing. He is already scheduled to drive in the Gulf 12 Hours at Abu Dhabi next month, but has also shown interest in racing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans as well as the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship.
Team WRT meanwhile comes off the back of a hugely successful season in which it took a class win in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, won the LMP2 titles in the European Le Mans Series and FIA World Endurance Championship and won multiple championships in the GT World Challenge Europe.
