Lewis Hamilton has been summoned to see the stewards for a duo of incidents that occurred during the final practice session in Jeddah.

Hamilton ended FP3 in second place, two-tenths down on title rival Max Verstappen.

The seven-time world champion was involved in a number of close calls during the 60-minute outing, with both Pierre Gasly and Nikita Mazepin forced to take evasive action while approaching Hamilton at speed.

Hamilton has been called to the stewards for the incident with Mazepin, which occurred through the left-hand corner of Turn 8.

He has also been summoned to discuss an alleged breach of the sport’s yellow flags at a separate point in the session. The flags are deployed to prohibit overtaking due to a nearby hazard.

Hamilton will see the stewards at 19:00 local time.

A potential penalty could be a hit for his championship hopes, as he currently trails Verstappen by eight points with just two races remaining in the 2021 season.

Historically, a driver that is found guilty of breaching the rules relating to double-waved yellow flags is handed a five-place grid penalty for the start of the grand prix.

Incidents of impeding are normally taken on a case-by-case basis.
