Red Bull Racing has presented the striking one-off livery that it will use at this weekend’s Formula 1 Turkish Grand Prix.
Red Bull has painted the RB16B in a white-and-red theme as a tribute to outgoing power unit partner Honda.
The car’s livery is inspired by the RA272 with which Honda claimed its maiden win in 1965.
The scheme will be run by Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez at Istanbul Park on the weekend when Formula 1 was originally meant to be competing at Suzuka.
The Japanese Grand Prix, at the Honda-owned venue, was cancelled for a second successive season due to the country’s pandemic-related entry restrictions.
Honda will exit Formula 1 in an official capacity at the end of the season thought its power units will be rebadged under the newly-formed Red Bull Powertrains organisation.
Red Bull Powertrains wil supply Red Bull Racing and AlphaTauri through at least the next three years.
It is the second time this year that a Formula 1 team has dramatically overhauled its scheme for a grand prix after McLaren ran a Gulf-inspired livery in Monaco.
