With global motorsport rather thin on the ground this weekend, all eyes were on the iconic Zandvoort circuit set in the sand dunes of the North Sea coast in Holland. For the first time since 1985, it was time to run the Dutch Grand Prix.
While Formula 1 fans have always had the reputation of being passionate, Max Verstappen’s followers take this passion to a new level. Davey Euwema and James Moy were trackside and Phil Horton has your report.
Also running at Zandvoort this weekend was the FIA’s Formula 3 Championship and it now looks like it’s down to a two horse after the three races this weekend. Tom Cairns has your report. The W Series was also in Holland this weekend and there too it seems the championship is now a race between two drivers, Ryan Wood reports.
The only other racing taking place this weekend was the 2021 DTM Series which visited the Red Bull Ring for a double header. With Kelvin van der Linde seemingly running away with the series, would anyone be able to challenger him. The answer is yes and Liam Lawson showed everyone how it was done; Ryan Wood and Phil Oakley have your race reports.
On the features front this week, IndyCar Editor Kevin Dejewski looks at how the series is growing and just how big next year’s grid could be.
Resident tech guru Rosario Giuliana looks at how Ferrari has managed to extract more in high speed circuits while Editor Fergal Walsh goes stateside to look at the evolving IndyCar career of multiple NASCAR Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson.
