Ferrari took the covers off of its 2013 car – named the F138 to commemorate the last season in which the V8 engines will be used – on Friday at their Maranello factory.
The Italian team have utilised the optional ‘modesty panel’ in order to hide the stepped-nose which was a feature of their 2012 car.
McLaren have also made use of the panel on their MP4-28, which was launched on Thursday. Lotus however have opted to keep their two-tier nose unhidden, claiming it would add unnecessary weight to the E21.
Other developments on the F138 include revised sidepods and a more tightly packaged rear-end in order to better direct airflow.
The most visual change is to the livery. A white stripe now runs from the entire length of the car.
