Organisers of the new-for-2022 Miami Grand Prix have revealed the name of the circuit that will host Formula 1 events.
The 19-turn 5.41km circuit, which is based entirely within the Hard Rock Stadium’s campus, will be called the Miami International Autodrome.
The event, which has a 10-year contract with Formula 1, is set to make its debut in 2022, with a May date mooted.
It is set to be the second grand prix in the United States, joining Austin’s Circuit of the Americas, which hosts Formula 1 in October.
“I’m happy to reveal that the official name of our circuit is the Miami International Autodrome,” said Tom Garfinkel, Managing Partner of the F1 Miami Grand Prix.
“We’ve worked hard to create a circuit that has great racing and multiple passing opportunities.
“In addition, we are working to innovate fan experiences across the Hard Rock Stadium sports and entertainment campus in Miami Gardens; experiences that reflect how Miami has become an International curator of culture across food, art, fashion, music, and sports.”
The Hard Rock Stadium is already the home of the Miami Dolphins and also hosts tennis’ Miami Open.
