Team WRT, leaders in LMP2 in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, have encountered an airjack problem for their leading car with two hours remaining.
The #31 ORECA 07-Gibson, driven by Robin Frijns, encountered problems during a pitstop. Team WRT confirmed to MotorsportWeek.com that the issue is related to the airjack, but would not go into further detail. It would, however, appear that the team has found an alternative solution to the problem.
Frijns still leads the class, with Yifei Ye second in the #41 ORECA 07-Gibson and the #28 JOTA ORECA driven by Stoffel Vandoorne third in class.
Mike Conway leads the race overall in the #7 Toyota GR010 Hybrid, with Kazuki Nakajima second in the #8 sister car and Olivier Pla third in the #36 Alpine A480-Gibson.
The two Glickenhaus cars have now moved into fourth and fifth overall in the hands of Olivier Pla and Ryan Briscoe.
Alessandro Pier Guidi continues to lead GTE Pro for AF Corse in the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, with the #63 Corvette C8.R of Antonio Garcia second and the #92 Porsche 911 RSR-19 third, with Neel Jani having taken over from Michael Christensen.
The #83 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo has retaken the lead in GTE Am after the pitstop rotation, with Alessio Rovera now in the car and the #33 TF Sport Aston Martin Vantage AMR of Ben Keating back down to second place in class.
