After a hectic hour including 30 minutes behind the safety car and a short, sharp shower causing multiple on-track incidents, Toyota continue to lead 1-2, with Jose Maria Lopez in the #7 Toyota GR010 ahead of Brendon Hartley in the #8 Toyota GR010 Hybrid.
Mathieu Vaxiviere in the #36 Alpine A480 is third, a lap down on the leading Toyota.
The shower arrived early on in the hour with almost no warning, leading to the #26 G-Drive ORECA 07-Gibson of Franco Colapinto hitting Sophia Floersch in the #1 Richard Mille Racing ORECA 07-Gibson.
Floersch then got hit by Tom Cloet in the #74 Racing Team India Eurasia Ligier JSP217-Gibson, which has meant the Richard Mille Racing car has retired from the race.
At the same time, two of the three United Autosports LMP2 ORECAs came together at the Forest Esses, with Paul di Resta in the #23 United Autosports ORECA 07-Gibson and Manuel Maldonado in the sister #32 United Autosports ORECA 07-Gibson making contact.
The #32 is subsequently out of the race, while the #23 spent time in the garage under safety car for the multiple incidents.
In LMP2, the #41 Team WRT ORECA 07-Gibson leads with Louis Deletraz at the wheel. The #22 United Autosports ORECA 07-Gibson of Fabio Scherer is second, while the other WRT car, Ferdinand Habsburg’s #31 Team WRT ORECA 07-Gibson is third.
