Renault Sport F1 president Jean-Francois Caubet has announced he will retire after this Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The long-time employee joined the Renault team under Flavio Briatore’s leadership in the ’70s where he became managing director of communication and marketing.
Later he was promoted to general manager of the engine manufacturer which supplies Red Bull, Lotus, Williams and Caterham.
The soon to be 64-year-old will retire this weekend, handing the reigns over to current president Jean-Michel Jalinier.
Caubet is the second high-level employee to leave Renault Sport F1 in the past month, with Cyril Abiteboul joining Caterham F1 as CEO.
