Lewis Hamilton has a special one-off helmet design for this weekend’s British Grand Prix designed by Canadian artist Michah Dowbak, also known as Mad Dog Jones.
The one-off helmet keeps a similar colour scheme to Hamilton’s traditional purple helmet design, but includes messages on sustainability and racial equality, as well as featuring corner names from the Silverstone Circuit.
Mad Dog Jones called the opportunity to design the seven-time World Champion’s helmet as “truly my wildest dream”.
“I still can’t believe this is real. I’m crying as I’m typing this,” write Dowbak on social media. “Getting to design Lewis Hamilton’s custom helmet for his home Silverstone GP is truly my wildest dream.
“Thank you Lewis for trusting me with this opportunity! Your dedication to bringing joy, sustainability and equality into the world is such an inspiration! Your mastery of the track has been a joy to watch and I can’t wait for all the excitement this weekend!”
Another British driver, Lando Norris, is also sporting a one-off design with messages of thanks to key workers.
