Formula E has ratified a 16-round calendar for its eighth season, which will start in late-January 2022 with a double-header in Saudi Arabia.
The all-electric series will then visit Mexico before heading to Cape Town, South Africa, for the first time in its history.
As well as South Africa’s debut on the roster, several other countries will return having taken breaks due to the coronavirus pandemic. Amongst those are China, although the location has yet to be confirmed with Sanya, Beijing, Shanghai and Ningbo in the running to stage a Formula E event.
Canada’s event will move to Vancouver, having previously been held in Montreal, whilst South Korea will finally make its debut with a double-header in Seoul, having previously had its first race cancelled.
The location of round nine has yet to be confirmed.
Paris had been rumoured as a possible 2022 event, but this will now not happen until 2023 – when Formula E debuts its Gen3 car – becoming a biannual event.
