Formula 3 has confirmed its pre-season test at Barcelona, which was due to run from March 16 – 17, has been postponed.
It marks the second F3 winter test that has been called off this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, after the Jerez event that was scheduled to run on February 25 – 26 was halted.
As was the case with the postponement of the Jerez test, the interruption of the Barcelona outing stems from a travel ban for UK travellers looking to enter Spain.
The ban has now been further extended until at least March 16 by the Spanish Health Ministry.
The ruling makes it impossible for the Hitech Grand Prix and Carlin teams, as well as any British-based drivers, to enter the country.
However, F3 asserts that the test will be rescheduled to a later date, which will be announced in due course.
A third pre-season date is currently set for April 3 – 4 at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria.
The 2021 F3 season is poised to get underway on March 8 in Barcelona, running alongside the Formula 1 Spanish Grand Prix weekend.
