Red Bull Racing has announced that its 2021 Formula 1 car, named the RB16B, will be unveiled on Tuesday, February 23.
The energy-drink backed team enters the year with a new line-up, having drafted in former Racing Point driver Sergio Perez alongside Max Verstappen.
The upcoming season will be Verstappen’s sixth with Red Bull, after the Dutchman joined the squad shortly after the start of the 2016 season.
Verstappen won two races for the Milton Keynes-based squad in 2020, including the season finale in Abu Dhabi.
One race prior to Verstappen’s most recent victory, Sergio Perez claimed his first F1 win, triumphing at the action-packed Sakhir Grand Prix.
The Red Bull-Honda partnership, which has existed since 2019, enters its final year in 2021 following the Japanese manufacturer’s decision to withdraw from F1 at the end of the upcoming season.
However, Red Bull will continue to use the Honda Power Unit from 2022, after all teams reached an agreement to freeze engine development at the conclusion of the 2021 campaign.
Red Bull was the most consistent challenger to Mercedes in 2020, despite finishing 254 points behind the World Champions in the Constructors’ standings.
Its sister team AlphaTauri launched its car for the upcoming year, the AT02, on Friday morning.
