Olli Caldwell has been signed by Prema Racing to complete the Italian team’s triplet in FIA Formula 3, alongside Arthur Leclerc and Dennis Hauger.
The 18-year-old Briton made his debut in the series in 2020 with Trident, bagging four points-finishes and concluding the championship in 16th overall.
Caldwell previously raced for Prema in the Italian F4 series in 2018, picking up four wins on his way to third overall.
The following year saw him make the leap into the newly-revamped Formula Regional European Championship with the same squad, ending that particular campaign in fifth overall that included a race win at Imola.
“I am really excited to announce that I will be competing with Prema in the 2021 FIA F3 Championship,” Caldwell said.
“Having competed with the team in previous championships I’m looking forward to putting what I learnt from my rookie year to good use and continuing our history together in FIA F3.”
Prema has dominated the championship since its rebirth as Formula 3 in 2019, taking back-to-back Teams’ titles, and fielding the Drivers’ champion on both occasion, with Oscar Piastri succeeding Robert Shwartzman.
“We look forward to welcoming Olli back to the Prema family,” Rosin said.
“Having worked with him in the past, we know he has a smart approach and can adapt quickly, which we expect to be a key skill with the challenging season ahead.
“In addition, he knows our work ethics and approach, so he is definitely a good fit for 2021. It is always great to see young drivers evolve with us throughout their career, and we are sure Olli will keep up the improvement this season.”
