Aston Martin has announced that American IT brand Cognizant will act as its title sponsor on a multi-year deal, paving the way for a refreshed livery in 2021.
The team operated as Racing Point across 2019 and 2020 but has been rebranded as Aston Martin for 2021 in the wake of Lawrence Stroll’s acquisition of the company.
The squad has had Austria-based water firm BWT as its title sponsor for the last four years and the company’s pink colours have had a heavy influence on its cars and branding.
The new deal with Cognizant clears the way for the pink livery to be dropped and it is expected that a predominantly green scheme will be adopted by Aston Martin.
Aston Martin’s new livery will be unveiled at its Gaydon headquarters in March.
“The return of Aston Martin to Formula 1 after more than 60 years away is a landmark moment in the history of the sport,” said Stroll.
“Everyone knows what Aston Martin stands for, but the Formula 1 team will allow us to take the essence of the brand to new places, building on the strong foundations laid by the previous iterations of the team.
“I’m hugely proud that we can start this new chapter with the support of Cognizant.
“In today’s world, as the digital revolution continues, I can’t think of a more suitable or valuable partner to work with us as we strive to make Aston Martin one of the greatest teams in the sport.”
Aston Martin will field Sebastian Vettel and Lance Stroll this season.
