With two hours remaining in the 88th running of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, Gustavo Menezes, Bruno Senna and Norman Nato have moved back up to second overall after a slow stop from the safety car.
The #3 Rebellion R13-Gibson was second in the hands of Romain Dumas after technical troubles put the #1 car into third. Menezes then caught up with Dumas but was told by the team to hold station, much to the Californian’s frustration.
The full-season WEC entry was able to move back ahead when Dumas pitted to hand the #3 car over to Louis Deletraz. Deletraz then had a slow getaway, which allowed Menezes to put the #1 Rebellion back into second before pitting to hand over to Norman Nato.
The #8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid still leads overall, with Kazuki Nakajima five laps clear.
Paul di Resta leads LMP2 for United Autosports in the #22 ORECA 07-Gibson ahead of the #38 JOTA ORECA, now with Anthony Davidson. The G-Drive Aurus 01-Gibson has maintained third with Mikkel Jensen currently behind the wheel.
Harry Tincknell has taken over the #97 Aston Martin Vantage AMR from Maxime Martin and leads in GTE Pro. Daniel Serra sits in behind in the #51 Ferrari 488 GTE Evo, with Marco Sorensen third in the #95 Aston Martin Vantage AMR.
Charlie Eastwood has meanwhile been installed in TF Sport’s #90 Aston Martin Vantage AMR, which leads GTE Am ahead of the #56 Porsche 911 RSR from Team Project 1, with newly crowned Porsche Supercup champion Larry Ten Voorde behind the wheel. Nicklas Nielsen still holds third in the #83 AF Corse Ferrari 488 GTE Evo
