Michael Belov is set to make his FIA Formula 3 debut at Spa-Francorchamps this weekend with Charouz Racing System.
Belov, 18, will replace David Schumacher at the backmarker team in the tertiary series, after he left to link up with Carlin for the remainder of the season.
Belov is to step up from his duties from the Formula Renault Eurocup series, where he currently sits seventh in the Drivers’ Standings with one podium after four races.
Belov has already won the Finland Formula Academy title in 2018, and finished runner-up in the SMP F4 NEZ Championship in the same season.
“I am really excited,” Belov said. “It was last minute because my plan was to race in Eurocup this year, but plans change, and I am really happy to driver here.
“It will be an amazing experience to compete in a new championship. It is my first time at this track, and my first time in this car, so there will be a lot to learn and a lot to understand.”
Belov will race alongside Igor Fraga and Roman Stanek for the seventh round of the series but no confirmation has been made as to whether he will be in the car again for final two rounds at Monza and Mugello.
