Hitech GP has confirmed Jean-Louis Chovet as an entry for the seventh round of the 2020 Formula 3 championship at Spa-Francorchamps.
Chovet is racing full-time in the Formula Regional European Championship with Van Amersfoort Racing this year and currently sits sixth in the standings with one podium finish to his name.
Chovet replaces Max Fewtrell at the team, who departed earlier this week following a difficult start to his second year in F3.
The Frenchman will join forces with Red Bull juniors Liam Lawson and Dennis Hauger at Hitech.
“I’m extremely proud and excited to participate in the next FIA F3 rounds with Hitech GP, one of the top F3 teams,” Chovet said.
“I know it’s going to be a huge challenge but I will do everything I can to give the team as strong as a result as they deserve. I’ll be working hard with Liam and Dennis to ensure I deliver.”
Hitech currently sits fourth in the 2020 F3 standings, picking up two wins via Lawson in Austria and Great Britain.
It is not yet clear if Chovet will race for the team after Spa, with the F3 round at Monza clashing with the Formula Regional European weekend at the Red Bull Ring. Hitech states that its full line-up for the penultimate and final rounds of the season will be announced in due course.
