Carlin has announced the signing of David Schumacher for the remainder of the 2020 Formula 3 season.
Earlier this week it was confirmed that Schumacher had left Charouz amid a difficult year in which he has failed to score a single point.
Carlin has had a series of drivers compete for it so far this year after Enaam Ahmed left the team following the third round of the 2020 campaign.
Ben Barnicoat stepped in for the two race weekends at Silverstone as his replacement while in Barcelona Leonardo Pulcini competed for the team.
However, Schumacher will now make the move to Carlin for the rest of the year, racing at Spa-Francorchamps, Monza and Mugello alongside Clement Novalak and Cameron Das.
“I haven’t quite had the season I hoped for so far”, said Schumacher. “I want to thank the Charouz team for all their efforts over the last few months and wish them all the best for the future.
“I look forward to this new challenge now with Carlin and will be pushing hard to end the season with some strong results.”
Team owner Trevor Carlin added: “We’re excited to welcome David to the team. He has shown plenty of potential and we look forward to working with him for the remainder of the 2020 season.
“We don’t have much time to prepare together for Spa but the team are working hard to make sure we’re in good shape for the start of the weekend.”
Carlin has two podium results in F3 so far this year, courtesy of Novalak, and holds eighth in the Teams’ Championship.
