David Schumacher has departed from the Charouz Racing System squad in the FIA Formula 3 Championship after just six rounds.
The son of six-time Formula 1 race winner Ralf had endured a tough season with the Czech Republic-based team, having achieved a best result of 12th at the Red Bull Ring.
He is 23rd in the Drivers’ Standings with no points on the board and on Wednesday confirmed that the parties had split.
“A little update for all of you,” Schumacher said. “We stopped for the rest of the season with Charouz Racing and will give you some big news soon!! Thanks for the work and good partnership with the team.”
Charouz had already changed its driver-line up in the week before the first round of the year in Austria, with Niko Kari being replaced by Roman Stanek.
The team has scored only one point so far in 2020, courtesy of Igor Fraga’s tenth place finish at Silverstone, and is last in the standings.
No announcement has been made yet in regards to who will step in for Schumacher from Spa onwards.
Maybe the car is not so good?
