Force India team owner and principal, Vijay Mallya, says he would reconsider Adrian Sutil’s place within the team if criminal charges are brought against the German.
It follows news that Sutil was involved in an incident after the Chinese Grand Prix at the M1NT club in Shanghai, whereby Genii Capital CEO Eric Lux claims he was attacked by the Force India driver.
“If we received a formal complaint or there is some form of a formal legal inquiry we will take appropriate action at that time but we cannot be presumptive,” said Mallya in Monaco.
However, the Indian billionaire was wary of admitting that Sutil had done something wrong, claiming press releases sent out by both parties included very little in the way of facts.
“I am not willing to jump to conclusions based on a press release that has been given out by a supposedly aggrieved party, I don’t know what happened in this particular incident.”
If more information does come to light which proves Sutil’s wrongdoing, according to Mallya, his place at the outfit will be assessed.
“There is a due process of law, so if Adrian is charged with misconduct, if and when he is charged I will assess the situation,” concluded the 55-year-old.
