Carlos Sainz Jr. will compete at this weekend’s Virtual Chinese Grand Prix, becoming the seventh current Formula 1 driver to take part in the event.
Formula 1 has organised virtual grands prix to replace events that have been postponed or cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Two – Lando Norris and Nicholas Latifi – participated in the opening encounter, while they were joined by Charles Leclerc, Alexander Albon, George Russell and Antonio Giovinazzi for the second round.
All six were confirmed for the upcoming event on Sunday and now McLaren’s Sainz Jr. has been announced as an entrant.
The drivers will use the F1 2019 game, developed by Codemasters, on equal settings and without set-ups.
It will begin at 19:00 CET on Sunday and be broadcast on platforms including Youtube, Facebook, Twitch and Weibo.
Renault junior Guan Yu Zhou claimed victory in the opening race in Bahrain while Ferrari’s Leclerc triumphed on his debut last time out, with Australia used as a substitute for Vietnam.
