Team LNT is not taking part in the upcoming Lone Star Le Mans round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Circuit of the Americas as both cars require ‘significant planned maintenance.’
The two Ginetta G60-LT-P1 – AER have contested every round of the season so far, but are not on the most entry recent list for the upcoming WEC round. The latest list shows only the #1 Rebellion R13-Gibson and the two Toyota TS050 Hybrids in the LMP1 class.
According to the original list, Team LNT was supposed to travel to Texas with the same driver line-up as the 8 Hours of Bahrain, with Chris Dyson, Mike Simpson and Guy Smith in the #5 and Ben Hanley, Charlie Robertson and Jordan King in the #6 car.
The British outfit has since put out a statement, saying:
“The WEC calendar is challenging, especially for any team with a new car in it’s first season and we have not had the chassis’ back at the factory since before Silverstone in August.
The cancellation of the earlier WEC race in Brazil and the new race at COTA made it impossible to do the planned work at our facility in Virginia, so the cars were shipped post race back to Ginetta UK, the cars hopefully arrive at the factory today.”
