Matteo Nannini will race for Jenzer Motorsport in this year’s FIA Formula 3 Championship.
Nannini, nephew of 1989 Japanese Grand Prix victor Alessandro, claimed the Formula 4 UAE title before going on to race in the Formula Regional European Championship.
Nannini is Jenzer’s second signing for the forthcoming campaign, having confirmed last year that Calan Williams will join the team.
“I am very excited to move to the FIA Formula 3 Championship.” Nannini said.
“I have done a pre-season test with Jenzer Motorsport and I am happy to continue my racing career with this great team.
“I know the level of the series is highly-competitive. Most of the circuits are new for me. But I feel pretty confident to do well.”
Jenzer finished seventh in last year’s Formula 3 standings, taking one win, which came courtesy of Red Bull-Honda junior Yuki Tsunoda at Monza.
