Go FAS Racing has hired Ryan Sparks to be Corey LaJoie’s crew chief for its #32 Ford team in the NASCAR Cup Series in 2020. It is Sparks first job as a crew chief in any of NASCAR’s national series.
“I am beyond ecstatic for the opportunity that the St. Hilaire family has given me,” Sparks said. “This is something I’ve been working for my entire career, and I’m looking forward to working with Corey and continuing Go Fas Racing’s progression up the points standings.”
Sparks comes to Go FAS Racing from Richard Childress Racing where he has worked the last 13 years. In that time, he was a race engineer in all three of NASCAR’s national series and was in that position in the Cup Series for Austin Dillon’s 2017 Coca-Cola 600 win at Charlotte Motor Speedway and his victory in the 2018 Daytona 500.
“I am beyond ecstatic for the opportunity that the St. Hilaire family has given me,” Sparks said. “This is something I’ve been working for my entire career, and I’m looking forward to working with Corey and continuing Go Fas Racing’s progression up the points standings.”
The 2019 season was LaJoie’s first season with Go FAS Racing. He finished in the top-10 twice in 36 races, including a career-best finish of sixth in the July race at Daytona. His other top-10 last season came at Talladega Superspeedway. LaJoie finished the 2019 season 29th in the points standings.
