Harry Tincknell puts Mazda on top for third straight Roar session

Mazda Team Joest continues to top the timesheets as the Roar Before the 24 enters its second day.

Harry Tincknell topped the Saturday morning session in the #55 Mazda RT24-P with a time of 01:35:679, with Olivier Pla second in the #77. Pla was just 0.034s quicker than compatriot Tristan Vautier in JDC-Miller Motorsports’ #85 Cadillac DPi-VR.

Fourth went to #31 Whelen Engineering Cadillac of Felipe Nasr while defending race winner Renger van der Zande rounded out the top five in #10 Wayne Taylor Racing Cadillac.

Colin Braun led LMP2 comfortably, with the Dragonspeed ORECA 07-Gibson well over a second clear of Gabriel Aubry’s PR1/Mathiasen ORECA.

Connor de Philippi led GTLM with a time of 01:44:142 in the #25 BMW M8 GTE ahead of the two Porsche 911 RSR-19s of Mathieu Jaminet and Nick Tandy. James Calado was fourth in the #82 Risi Competizione Ferrari 488 GTE while the two Corvette C8.Rs once again brought up the rear in class.

Albert Costa’s 01:47:084 put the #11 Grasser Racing Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo fastest ahead of Trent Hindman’s #57 Heinricher Racing Acura NSX GT3 Evo and the #44 GRT Magnus Lamborghini of Spencer Pumpelly.
