Two-time Formula 1 World Champion Fernando Alonso has admitted he would be interested in giving the World Rally Championship a go.
The Spaniard was recently confirmed in Toyota's Dakar Rally line-up for 2020 and has of course tasted success with Toyota in the World Endurance Championship and Le Mans, and is keen to tick WRC off that list.
"I have been in three of the four things in which Toyota Gazoo is racing and WRC is the only one missing," he told the official WRC website during a visit to this weekend's Rally Espana.
"So maybe I speak with Tommi [Mäkinen] once, and at least testing the Yaris would be interesting."
Whilst Alonso has been involved in an intense Dakar test programme, he's certain the WRC would present an entirely different challenge.
"Rally is a little more complex," he added. "I respect rally a lot. To have a co-driver that you need to trust corner after corner on the notes is probably a little bit more difficult than the Dakar."
Alonso is also expected to try his hand at the Indianapolis 500 once again following his failure to qualify for this year's event, in which he teamed up with McLaren and Carlin.
