Pirelli has confirmed Formula 1 teams’ tyre choices for next weekend’s Hungarian Grand Prix, with some variance among the front-runners.
Pirelli has nominated the C2, C3 and C4 compounds, the middle range of the compounds on offer.
The Hungaroring is a tight and twisty circuit requiring high-levels of grip, but can often be accompanied by higher temperatures of late summer in central Europe which require the harder compounds.
As per usual Pirelli supplies teams with one set each of the Soft, Medium and Hard tyres, with free choice available for their 10 remaining sets.
Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas will have eight sets of Soft tyres available while the drivers at Ferrari and Red Bull have opted for nine.
All six drivers across the top three teams have opted for a variance on the harder compounds on offer, providing a range of strategies for teams to choose for the race.
Renault, Toro Rosso and Alfa Romeo have taken the most aggressive stance by selecting 10 sets of the Soft compound.
