Red Bull’s Pierre Gasly and Alfa Romeo’s Antonio Giovinazzi have both been given three-place grid penalties for Formula 1’s Monaco Grand Prix.
Gasly was judged to have blocked Haas’ Romain Grosjean in Q2, while Giovinazzi was deemed to have baulked Renault’s Nico Hulkenberg in Q1.
Gasly had qualified in fifth position but will now drop to eighth spot.
Haas’ Kevin Magnussen, 2018 winner Daniel Ricciardo and Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat will move up to fifth, sixth and seventh respectively.
Giovinazzi was slowest in the 15-driver Q2 session and will now slide to 18th spot.
Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc, who was knocked out in Q1, will therefore move in to 15th position, with Racing Point pair Sergio Perez and Lance Stroll 16th and 17th respectively.
