Adrian Sutil says he hasn’t made a decision on where he will be next year, but admitted his current seat at Force India was most likely.
Rumours circulated in September that he was lining up to replace Michael Schumacher at Mercedes, but with the seven-time champion confirming he’s staying put, the rumours switched to the second seat at Renault, currently occupied by Vitaly Petrov.
Those rumours have now died down as it looks almost certain that the Russian will keep his seat for 2011.
Sutil, currently tenth in the standings behind Schumacher, says any decision must take into account his future career path, not just next season.
“We haven’t decided yet,” he told AMuS. “It’s harder than I thought it would be, you can’t just think about next year – you’ve also got to look further ahead.”
With all the top teams confirming their driver line-ups will remain unchanged, the German understands his options are limited and remaining at Force India isn’t a problem.
“I could be mistaken, of course, but all seats in the top teams are currently occupied. I don’t have any problem with staying at Force India, though, so I’m not worried at all.”
