Formula 1 has revealed that President and CEO Stefano Domenicali has agreed with Liberty Media to continue in his role through 2029.
The Italian, who took on the mantle of F1 chief in 2021 from Chase Carey, has earned a five-year renewal after overseeing extraordinary growth for the series.
Under Domenicali’s tenure, F1 has grown to a 24-race calendar and several regions are keen for a slice in the action as the sport’s fan base has continued to rise.
Domenicali, a former Ferrari Team Principal, said “I am honoured to continue to lead this incredible sport, which I love and has been part of my life since my childhood and grateful to the Liberty Media Team for their trust.
“Together, with all the relevant F1 stakeholders, we will continue to serve the best interest of our fans, as they are the heartbeat of everything we do.
“ The passion, the energy and the adrenaline are the fuel that powers me every day to give my absolute best to Formula 1.”

Liberty Media ‘thrilled’ to continue with Domenicali as F1 CEO
Derek Chang, President and CEO of Liberty Media, said: “We are thrilled to renew Stefano and look forward to his leadership alongside the talented management of Formula 1 for the years ahead.
“Stefano has been an excellent steward of the business, building on its successful foundation and accelerating Formula 1’s rate of growth both commercially and in fan engagement.
“His energy and enthusiasm for the sport translate into highly effective strategy and results. On behalf of Liberty, we are thankful for his partnership and incredibly optimistic about the continued success the F1 team can drive for the sport, our fans, partners and shareholders.”
Domenicali’s professional career began with Ferrari in 1991 and he rose to the rank of Team Principal in 2008, before leaving the Scuderia in 2014 to join Audi AG as Vice President of New Business Initiatives.
He went on to become Lamborghini Chairman in 2016, overseeing a period of growth for the renowned sportscar brand before succeeding Carey as F1 CEO in 2021.
The announcement of Domenicali’s renewal comes on the eve of the 2025 campaign and the season-opening Australian Grand Prix.
