Haas team boss Guenther Steiner has confirmed his team will appeal a decision to exclude Romain Grosjean from the Italian Grand Prix result.
Grosjean finished Sunday’s race in sixth position, a result that lifted Haas equal on points with Renault in the standings, and ahead on countback.
After the race though, Renault lodged a protest against Grosjean’s car and the stewards chose to disqualify the Frenchman over a non-compliant floor design.
Steiner, posting on the team's Twitter, confirmed Haas' intention to appeal the decision.
"We do not agree with the Stewards’ decision to penalise our race team and we feel strongly that our sixth-place finish in the Italian Grand Prix should stand. We are appealing the Stewards’ decision."
Grosjean's DSQ elevated Williams to a double points finish and Force India moved ahead of Toro Rosso in the standings thanks to the extra points gained.
