Formula 1 tyre supplier Pirelli has confirmed the compounds that it will bring to the Italian Grand Prix later this year.

The company has selected the Supersoft, Soft and Medium compound in order to cope with the demands placed upon the rubber by the high-speed Monza circuit.

As per usual, drivers will have 13 sets of tyres for the weekend, of which batch of Supersofts must be used only in Q3, with either the Softs or Mediums run in race trim.

Of the remaining 10 sets, they are permitted free choice from the three nominated compounds.

The Italian Grand Prix is typically low on tyre degradation due to the long straights at Monza, lack of corners that stress tyres, and the relatively large time lost through making a stop.
