Aston Martin announced on Tuesday that Dan Fallows will no longer serve as Technical Director of its Formula 1 team, effective immediately.
Fallows joined Aston Martin in April 2022, having previously served as Red Bull’s Head of Aerodynamics.
In 2023, the Aston Martin AMR23, Fallow’s first full project with the team, burst out of the starting blocks in fine form, taking six podiums from the first eight races.
Since then, the team has struggled with development, and the AMR24 is among the slowest cars of the 2024 field with the team only sitting fifth in the Constructors’ standings thanks to promising early season results.
In its statement, Aston Martin confirmed via a mutual agreement “that from November, Dan will no longer serve as Technical Director of the Formula One Team. Dan will remain with the Group.”
Aston Martin hasn’t specified what role within the group Fallows will be moving onto.
Dan Fallows passing on the baton at Aston Martin
Group CEO, Andy Cowell said “I would like to thank Dan for his contribution to Aston Martin Aramco in the last two years. Dan led the team to the success of the AMR23 which secured eight podiums last season.”
Fallows added: “In my time at Aston Martin, it has been a joy and a privilege to guide the technical team on their journey towards being race and championship winners.
“It is time for me to pass on the baton, but I look forward to watching the team’s future success, which I am sure will come soon.”
Fallows’ dismissal means he won’t be reuniting in a direct capacity with former Red Bull colleague Adrian Newey, who joins Aston Martin next year as Managing Technical Partner.
In addition to Newey, Aston Martin will welcome Enrico Cardile as Chief Technical Officer in 2025.
