Kiro Racing Co’s David Beckmann has stormed to the top of the timesheets in the morning session on day three of the FIA Formula E pre-season test in Jarama.
The German – who is expected to partner Dan Ticktum for the whole of Season 11 – went quickest in a Porsche 1-2-3, with the works cars of Pascal Wehrlein and António Félix da Costa following behind, both of whom were within six one-hundredths of the rookie.
Max Günther, who went fastest late on Wednesday, was fourth, following by Jake Hughes.
Mitch Evans was sixth, with Norman Nato close behind in sixth.
Taylor Barnard went seventh for NEOM McLaren, with Oliver Rowland ninth and Jean-Eric Vergne 10th.
The afternoon session will be a mock race, with drivers using a standing start to try the all-wheel drive system which can enable 0-60mph in just 1.82 seconds.
The session will see further practice of the Attack Charge pitstop format. If successful, it is likely to be implemented in the regulations for the season, starting in São Paulo in one month. If not, it is likely the idea will be scrapped with little chance of being tested again.
