MotoGP’s first practice session at Phillip Island has been cancelled after two hours of repeated delays.
The original start time was supposed to be 10:45 a.m. local time, but MotoGP decided to cancel the session altogether after the downpour continued for two hours.
No rider went out onto the circuit and produced any lap times due to the increasing amount of standing water on the track as the rain pour worsened.
MotoGP will announce a new revised schedule in due course. Rain is expected for the rest of the day.
