Petit Le Mans winner Sebastien Bourdais has reunited with his FIA World Endurance Championship teammates for the 8 Hours of Bahrain.
After claiming his second Petit Le Mans win at last week’s 27th running at Road Atlanta, Bourdais will return to the seat of the #01 Cadillac V-Series.R.
Chip Ganassi Racing, who have concluded their IMSA presence, will do the same in the WEC after JOTA announced a new partnership with Cadillac for 2025.
Bourdais won last week’s IMSA SportsCar Championship season finale with his full-season co-driver Renger van der Zande and their Endurance Cup driver Scott Dixon.
In the WEC, the sole #01 Cadillac has primarily been driven by duo Earl Bamber and Alex Lynn as Bourdais joined them at the Qatar opener.
Bourdais said: “It’s good to get back in the car with Alex and Earl.
“We started off the season really well and while we ultimately didn’t get the result because of circumstances, the car was very competitive in the race and we certainly deserved a good finish.
“Unfortunately, it’s been a bit of a tough season in terms of results – there has always been something getting in the way – but performance-wise, it seems like the car is in a really good window.
“It’s pretty light, good on power and competitive, so there is definitely something to play for and if we could send it off on a high, that would be pretty cool.”
Bourdais’ last WEC race was at the 24 Hours of Le Mans earlier this year, albeit in Chip Ganassi’s second Cadillac from IMSA – hence why Alex Palou co-drove the #01 at Le Mans.
After being unable to convert their first pole at Fuji, the #01 crew will aim for victory on 2 November for the final time this year.
