Tatiana Calderon and Carrie Schreiner have been announced by Maserati MSG Racing to be its drivers in the all-female FIA Formula E test next month.
Colombian Calderon has a wealth of experience in racing, appearing in IndyCar, F2, GP3 and Super Formula, and also appeared in an end-of-season Formula E test in 2018 for DS Techeetah.
She is currently racing in IMSA with Gradient Racing, having initially driven in WEC for Richard Mille Racing.
Schreiner is currently driving in F1 Academy for Campos Racing, sitting in ninth place in the standings, with seven points finishes from nine races.
It’s the German’s second season in the competition, having competed last season with ART, scoring a victory in Zandvoort.
Schreider also took part in the same 2018 FE test in Riyadh, for HWA Racelab.
In a statement released by Maserati, Calderon said: “I’m really excited to join Maserati MSG Racing and I’m already enjoying working with some very familiar faces that I have worked with previously.
“I drove the GEN2 car but the GEN3 EVO is a very different experience and the evolution of the car from Season 10 (GEN3) to Season 11 (GEN3 EVO) makes a significant difference from a performance perspective.
“Testing time in Formula E is so limited so each session has critical importance so I want to do the best possible job for the team in Valencia to help them prepare for the season ahead.
“With one eye on the future, I also want to make the very most of this opportunity to show the team what I can do. I’m very proud that the team has shown this faith and trust in me and I can’t wait to get started in Valencia.”
Schreiner pointed-out the significance of the all-female test, the first of its kind, saying: “This test is an important opportunity for women drivers to gain visibility in the world of Formula E and I’m proud to have been selected by Maserati MSG Racing to take part in the Valencia test.
“Driving a Formula E car is a unique and challenging experience, the car handles unlike any other and to make the most of the test, I need to adapt and prepare as best as I can. After a successful seat fit and an intense sim session, I feel ready for the big day and I’m looking forward to showing the team what I can do.”

Cyril Blais, Maserati’s Team Principal, said the test is “a pivotal moment for Formula E, providing a crucial opportunity for all the racing drivers involved to showcase their talent.
“Frankly speaking though, we shouldn’t need initiatives like this, but it’s an unfortunate fact that women remain under-represented across the board in motorsport. Without doubt, there is a problem with connecting talent with opportunity, and we’re proud to support initiatives like this that address the issue and provide a credible platform for women to show their talent both on and off the racetrack.
